What's All This Then?

Out by the Lab is about a vampire and werewolf's misadventures with a mad scientist/occultist at (and around) her lab.

It updates whenever I finish a page; which is less frequently than I would like. I usually get 3-4 pages done a month but there are some bad months where it's less. I know this is slow, but I love working on it and it will continue until its completion or something prevents me.

The tone is generally silly horror that will always be family friendly; I started drawing it with my 10 year old in mind. There won't be any nudity, blood or cussing. There will be monsters but the emphasis will be on weird over frightening.

It's all in black and white because I have limited time to draw and color adds complexity. Also, black and white is much, much cheaper to print.

Who Are These People?

Sam Gwen

A vampire who was revied by Que to assist with her work. Sam has been around for about a year at the time the story starts. She has no memories of her previous incarnations and survives off of sugar instead of blood. She and Wolfie hit it off right away and they hang out most nights.

Wolfie (Harry Mann)

Wolfie is a dog that was bitten by a werewolf and spends most of his time halfway between a wolf and a man. He can transform into either but it takes effort to maintain and he prefers staying in his "natural" form. Because of his state, he doesn't quite fit in no matter where he goes and spent most of his life as a drifter. He promised Penn he would help take care of Que until she can figure out her condition. He's enjoyed his time a lot more since Sam came along and spends most of his time hanging out with her.

Dr. Que Cumber

Dr. Que is actually about 30 but looks like she's about 6 because of a science/occult experiment gone wrong. She's convinced that the reality they're living in is a computer simulation, that magic is just hacking the code of that simulation and that the simulation is set up for them to fail. She is completely correct. She's working with Penn to try and figure out a way to hack the simulation so they can escape their predetermined destiny.
